Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Archbishop Timothy M. Dolan the next Archbishop of New York. Or, as Rocco Palmo headlined it, "Milwaukee Takes Manhattan" (reminds me of a chess match).
Archbishop Dolan will be installed on April 15. He succeeds Cardinal Edward Egan, who reached the retirement age of 75 in April of 2007.
Whispers in the Loggia and American Papist have both been following the story and providing commentary.
Read the Archdiocese of NY's press release.
CUF is lucky to have had Archbishop Dolan write a couple excellent articles for Lay Witness. This is a great opportunity to revisit them:
Congratulations, Archbishop Dolan! |
